One off British Standard Tosser in a blue overall, with a hacksaw? How much did that farce cost you?

Pegler used to mean decent quallity but it's take a bit of a dive. Still better than average though. Cheapish at Screwfix.

Saw some of their rad valves didn't have a gland nut

Dont bother fitting valves on things as it is a total waste of money, as 2 years later they dont shut off or they snap off or the little screwdriver slots leak, so whats he point, dont bother to start with and save the money.

GRC - Er, and your suggested method for suspending the hot and cold water supply to the bathroom would be what, exactly...? Drain the cistern?

BTW, it wasn't a screwdriver isolating valve, it was a 'red-top' gate valve....
