Where are the motor brushes? Only got it today, was refurbished and it did a quick wash and then won't do anything at all now. Worse, this was replacement machine as the first one I got didn't work either. Wish I'd just bought a new one!
Servis went bust years ago...they were junk anyhow. Contact whoever sold you the machine & tell them you want your money back. There are many unscrupulous "second-hand" merchants around these days bodging up old machines & selling them to trusting folk. Buy from a reputable dealer & steer clear of "refurbished" (bodged) appliances.
I'll ring them on Monday to report it. Got it off the gumtree website, wish I'd never bothered. Asked for a refund after the 1st one was knackered and they said they didn't give refunds, just replacements. I'll give them another go and then it might be time to just write off the £100 as my own stupid fault for buying second hand.
Cheers for the replys anyway.
My sympathies on your bad luck. But please be aware there are many back-street enterprises bodging up appliances these days with a view to quick profit. DIY sites like this one are often misused by unscrupulous people to glean information by posing as genuine consumers. Many are neither competent or qualified to undertake repairs on any kind of electrical appliance. By all means buy a second-hand appliance from a friend or acquaintance but steer WELL CLEAR of second-hand enterprises, volume ebay sellers & the like.
If you get no joy from the seller try every complaint avenue you can find. I am annoyed on your behalf....this is a recurring problem, but we are powerless to do anything to prevent it. Domestic appliance engineers frown on this kind of speculation.
Sorry to hear of your problems montbee. I do occasionally sell on appliances that I have fixed, as part of my hobby, but I always have offered a full refund; look for that sort of guarantee.
Some problems are caused by the way the machine is transported to the buyers location as residual water can run all over the place.
If it's not worked properly from the start, then it's not fair that the seller will not refund; you can go to Trading Standards. Pursue it all the way.
Good luck.
