Set back brickwork below patio doors?

As part of my house extension, I have a set of patio doors being fitted. I have laid the first few courses of brickwork up to DPC level, however as my house has a 'feature' wall that includes a plinth course above the 1st five courses, setting the brickwork back, all the existing patio doors in my house have the brickwork set back by approx 50mm to account for this.

I have not included this set back in my extension, this means I may need a wider sill on my patio doors to clear the bricks underneath my patio doors, so rain water doesnt rest on the bricks.

Is this acceptable, or do I need to redo my 1st few courses, setting back the bricks where they are underneath my doorway.

thanks for any help.
