I wasn’t downplaying the problem, no one likes to hear “matrimonial” noises from next door, it’s just that it would be worse if your floor creaked as well. I don’t think there is much you can do about it.When I had a look the joists were just going into the wall - definitely no hangers, the pockets were cut in breeze blocks but no joist caps were visible.
It is the "just noise" that bothers me though
Just trying to understand if adding some sound barriers to the wall is worth it...
