Hi, can anyone advise me as to how I find out if my property shares a sewer. The property was built before October 1937 and if it shares a sewer with one or more properties it is classed as a public sewer and is the responsibility of our local water authority.

I'm not sure if this will be included in the deeds or will I need to check with Land Registry.

Many thanks

Lift the last inspection chamber lid, and get the neighbours to flush.

Ring the sewage undertaking and tell them that you believe the sewer to be shared. They will tell you if you are right. If you don't agree then go to plan registry.
