Shared Water Supply Leak

Hi,

Neighbor found out today that they may have a leak in the mains water pipe supplying there's & ours house. Water board and fairly sure its under there property & not ours. But seeing as its shared are we responsible for any costs incurred from repair/replacement? The water board bloke kept saying its an insurance matter, insurance will deal with it...he didn't issue us with any paperwork but did issue next door with it. Any advice will be great.

All properties sharing the same water supply must share the cost for any repairs. Regardless of whose property the service ppe leaks on or under.
