Hello there..... looking for some advise on concreting........i'm going to make a concrete base for a shed, which will measure 12 x 10, and i need to know, what thickness, I should make the concrete, and what quantities, of sand, ballast, bags of concrete I should buy..... Many Thanks!

Your concrete base should lay on top of about 3 inches of compacted hardcore, and then be about 3 inches in depth itself (thus requiring a 6 inch excavation).

Therefore total volume required is 3 inches x 12' x 10', which I make to be about 30'cubed, or just under 6 cubic litres.

we normnally do them on a 100mm base. 12 x 10 is roughly 3.6m x 3.00m so thats 1.08 of a cubic metre of concrete, or if your going for a 75mm base its 0.81 of a cubic metre
