The starting salary for a PC in Engalnd ( not London) is £19,700 now thats not that brilliant for front line Policing. They then dont get a rise for 2 yrs while they are training as a probationer. The Pension scheme has also changed and any new PC's can only get a pension at 8% instead of the 11% as before. Its not all rosy for the British bobby, its the higher ranking officers that get the good money and make the decisions.

£10 per hour for being a cop not bad, plus perks, early retirement ,good pension, loads of time in the office filling in reports .dont be fooled by the frown loads of peoples jobs carry the risk of death.

ive not read all the posts here so im hoping im not copying anything someone has said, the prison service had a similar predicament before it took years to sort out went to courts etc, but in the end all involved got a hefty pay out, and it cost the govt a lot more in the long run than just to back date the owed amounts

I read in the paper this morning that they are going to backdate the PCSO peeps pay but not the proper coppers.

Also in the paper a youth has been charged with assaulting a man with a sausage the case has been to court 6 times and has now been kicked out. Cost to us taxpayers £20k
