Hi Guys,

Recently moved into a repo house that was half way refurbished.

We are trying to choose a shower but am not really sure what size wiring we have in place. Can anybody tell from the pictures or is there anyway of measuring?

Many thanks

How many water pipes are there? Two?

Its hard to tell what size that cable is. But its an unusual installation method :?

Do you have a photo of the isolation switch and the wiring within?

that there is definitely 10mm² cable.. the brown bootlaces give it away..

it also looks like it might be tri-rated..

Whats tri-rated?

The shower i'm looking at is a 10.8Kw mira vie. Would this cable be ok if it is 10mm²?

I've traced the cable along its length and it runs in the flexible tube from the cellar all the way into the loft where it goes into a metal enclosure that the shower switch seems to be bolted to from underneath.

Cheers

Yeah a 10.8 will be fine.

Tri-rated isnt normally used in this country for fixed installations. But nor is flexible tube for an entire circuit (in short lengths is more normal)

The metal box sounds interesting. Any chance of a photo of this too?

Sure I'll try and get one in the morning!

Thanks for the help, it sounds like we have one less problem to face :)
