Shower faceplate won't come off

Hi

I'm trying to get at the heat mixing valve thingy as its seized up. I've got this far but the faceplate still won't come away. Could the installer have glued it?

Possibly, with silicone being the favourite.

Quite likely to be siliconed into place to stop water getting down the back and soaking your wall

Ahh.... Any tips on how to remove without bending and scratching it?

Dental floss or fishing line. Or snap off blade.

I use a thin ham knife that my aunt gave me as a wedding present to cut silicone in places like this.
