Rather than having the pipework coming into the side of the (electric) shower, I want to bring it through the back which would be much neater.

Problem it, I need to remove this fitting and replace with a compression elbow.

I've tried pushing the end collar, which normally releases these kind of push-fit fittings, but won't budge.

Any suggestions how to remove it please?

You can get tectite classic fittings apart using a bahco type adjustable spanner.
Just adjust so it slides on tube, works somewhat better than the demounting tools!
