Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice as I'm very novice when it comes to plumbing - especially showers.

I had a bathroom fitted, the shower having a concealed valve with separate on/off and temperature handles. I've no idea of the brand or anything, though, as we pretty much chose everything in a bit of a rush.

Anyway, the shower wouldn't produce hot water, so after about two months of trying to get the plumber to return, he finally came back and fiddled with it for a few minutes and it magically started making hot water.

I've since noticed that although it will produce hot and cold water (which is nice), the hot and cold are the wrong way around according to the face plate (ie. when turned to cold it makes hot and vice versa).

I haven't the patience to try to get the plumber to come back, as it'd probably take another two months. So I was hoping someone could tell me if there's a way I can sort this out myself? I've read that some shower cartridges can be simply inverted and they'll do this, but without knowing the make I can't be sure and don't want to potentially break anything in just having a crack at it.

I've got a couple of pictures of the valve (naked and clothed), if that helps:

thats more likely what his done turned the cartridge round to compensate the pipes being wrong in the fist place.
but now your face plate is wrong.

as these showers won't work properly with the hot/cold piped wrong.
so he has came round and reversed the cartridge.
