Hi all,
Pretty desperate situation as we run a small Guest House. This morning a guest didn’t close his shower door, water on the floor, leaked to the floor below where the boiler is. It wasn’t a lot of water but obviously enough to trip the switch. Nothing “looks” wet, eight hours later but it’s still tripping. I’ve unplugged the boiler and it still trips (which suggests) it’s not the socket or plug. Is there anything else it could be. Boiler working perfectly well beforehand so it’s definitely the guest flooding his shower that’s done it.

Appreciate any help

Terryplumb - just took a short video to show you. It appears I can only upload pictures here

The video of the boiler and the leaks, with possible faults would’ve been more beneficial I think. Sorry!

The RCBO protecting the circuit marked boiler , is anything else connected to that circuit ?
Moisture /water, that has got into any socket/ wiring / etc on that circuit would cause the RCBO to trip. You could plug the boiler into an extension lead plugged into a socket on another circuit if one is available.
As the RCBO trips when boiler is unplugged ,the boiler itself isn't likely to be an issue.
What type of boiler do you have , does it heat a hot water cylinder for domestic hot water ?

I’ve done that overnight (put it on an extension lead) so at least it’s working. My concern is it’s still tripping even with nothing plugged in to that socket :/

Leave the RCBO off, could take days to dry off whatever the water has got into.
What is your concern ?

I take for granted it’s a Combi boiler? Where is the thermostat or receiver in relation to where the leak occurred?
