Howdy,

Strange fault recently developed.

For the past two weeks whenever I run the hot tap in either the kitchen or bathroom, the shower starts leaking quite freely from the head... its a bit strong to call it 'running' but its a lot more than a few drips; you can hear it splashing into the tub from rooms away!

The hot supply is via an aged Potterton 80 combi boiler, could there be some sort of reverse flow valve malfunctioning?

I think my shower valve washers are fine, as they adequately turn off in normal use without dripping or running on.

Cheers for any hints.

Hi,

i've never heard of this problem before, but the only explanation i can think of, is when you open the kitchen/bathroom taps it releases a vacume in the system wich then lets water run freely from other sources (eg. shower head)

This is a long shot but thats all i have to mind at the moment,
