shower only putting out cold water

could someone please tell me why my electric shower would come on with just cold water? it is a triton. i had to turn it off at the fuse box because the switch on the shower itself would not work? also there is no light on the power switch on the shower itself?

There's more than one possible cause, but one common one is that the heater can has overheated and the thermal cut-out has permanently cut-out.

If the off button doesn't cease the flow of water then the solenoid valve is stuck open.

Which model is it?
