Hi all,

Got CT1 for shower tray to ply, is BT1 ok for the shower panels to the walls?

Basically the same stuff they are both silicone sealant/adhesives (not to be confused with normal sanitary silicone sealant). Overkill IMO but if you already have it then fire away. Wall panels can use any high grab adhesive.

Thanks Rob, so BT1 bit more grab than CT1, can use any and will grab good.

BT1 is their Bathroom based silicone and adhesive, says it's anti mould etc but yet to find one that actually is, whilst the CT1 is their Construction level adhesive and sealant that doesn't profess to have antimould etc
Thanks man, appreciate the advise.

Rob, dont want to remove these old tiles as will damage wall, can I put panels on top?

also someone said to use stixseal

or pink grip, assume CT1 as good?

Yes - you can board on top of the tiles, as long as they are nice and secure and nothings loose.

Stixseal is basically the same polymer based stuff as CT/BT/OB1/X8 etc, pink grip isn't. It's just a grab adhesive that doesn't have the same water resistant/sealing properties but it's still perfectly ok to put up wet wall as that's sealed anyway.

Thanks Rob will stick with my CT1, have a nice day!
