hi in my en-suite bathroomi havent earthed the pipes yet.
do you only earth metal pipes?as the oonly one is the shower pipe.
and if i add the earth to the shower pipe can i feed it to one of the earthed pipe clamps in bathroom directly below, instead of taking it all way back to mcu

Supplementary bonding:

You bond all the metallic pipes where they enter the bathroom. This is usually hot and cold water pipes and central heating pipes. It can include drain pipes and soil pipes if they are metal.

You do not take the bonding conductors back to the CU or the MET. You bond them to the earth conductor of all the electrical circuits that enter the bathroom. This usually means the light switch. If you have a shaver socket that is not fed from the lighting circuit, you have to bond that too. If you have an imersion heater circuit, wall heater, shower circuit, powershower pump, immersion heater or central heating pump, you have to bond to the earth conductor of them too. It is often convenient to bring all the wires together in an earth block. If the airing cupboard is adjacent to the bathroom you can bond to the pipes in there just befeore they pass through the wall.
