A question.
I have just had to change my shower pump. when it was installed the plumber told me it would be an easy job to do as he had put isolation valves in cold & hot water feeds.
I turned these off or so I thought. my cold supply had 2 x isolation valves 1 in the loft and the other just before the cold intake into the pump. I turned these off.
the hot had one coming out of the hot water tank which fed the shower pump this is the one I turned off. I isolated the power and turned on the shower to drain the water as described in the instructions but the hot water just kept coming until the hot water tank was empty.
Once it was drained I changed the pump and put everything back together again and it is all working fine.
so I don't understand why the tank drained if the valve feeding the shower pump was OFF (yes I did try and turn it fully the other way too just in case, but the water just kept coming). Can anybody explain or is it just a faulty valve ?
