Shower pump for bath/shower mixer tap

I have a bath/shower mixer tap in my upstairs bathroom. Due to lack height from the cold water storage tank the flow from the shower hose is rubbish. I've been given a new 1.5 bar twin impeller shower pump and was wondering if I could use this to boost the bath/shower mixer? Are they ok to use on these or just on showers?
