i have just fitted a new shower pump, like for like with the old one but it wont kick in. i did all the commissioning stuff and still no luck. i then checked for air locks, very little water coming through the valve but good pressure to the valve when i disconnected the pipes to the valve. Is it the valve thats likely to be the problem rather than the pump?

its rubbish, took shower hose off and it just trickles out but theres good flow to the valve.

what shower mixer is it ?
apart from the filters in the mixer the only other thing is the check valves
but then i wouldn't suspect bothsides to be stuck.

you say flow to the mixer is ok ?

its a sirrus stratus, approx 7yrs old. i disconnected the hot and cold from the valve and the pressure was pretty good.

you not got a blockage on the hose outlet at all.
seems strange you say you have pressure to the mixer but nothing out on both hot/cold.

i dont think so, had a look and felt inside no gunk etc and some water is coming out but nothing compared to what is going in or not as the problem seems!

the shower controls all working as they should ?
as in the flow control valve opening and shutting.

useally a strip down and a service kit (seals etc)

only going on what you say flow etc to shower but nothing through shower
you've checked filters, all isolations are open fully.
