Looking at fitting one of these. None of the installation guides seem to mention bleed valves on the outlet pipework. Are they necessary? Should I just rely on the shower head as the bleed point? Can't seem to find any good install info so advice from experienced hands most appreciated.

Um, you don't need a "bleed point" anywhere on the outlet. The shower head is the shower head, not a "bleed point"'.

Just follow the manufacturer's instructions. Phone them if those MIs are unclear or ambiguous.
