Hi,

I've been slowly re-doing our bathroom and have got to the stage where I'm considering shower screens. The shower array is boxed in (by the previous owner) with 9mm ply which is screwed to wooden battens which are screwed into the brick. The ply has then got tile over the top. Obviously screen doors are pretty heavy so I was wondering if using hollow wall anchors to spread the load would be enough to hold the weight.

Sorry if I've mis-posted to the wrong forum and thanks in advance.

9mm ply unsuitable for tiles in a shower, likely to come loose, plenty of strength to hold shower screen though without anything special.
What is meant by ''shower array ''.

Hi @foxhole - thanks for your reply.

By shower array I just mean the pipe work for the mixer shower. Its all boxed in from the previous install and the shower is the only good thing about the bathroom so didn't fancy try to rip out the boxing in case I messed up the pipework.

Thanks
