Hi,

I've read plenty of posts with people having problems with shower wiring, fuses & switches etc & thought i'd see how hot the shower switch was the other day after I'd had a shower, you could touch it, but it was pretty hot.

The shower is an 8.5KW and as far as I know the cable is 10mm & the fuse is 40A.

By the way the switch is a ceiling mounted pull switch (don't know what it's rated at)

Does this sound about right?

Should I be worried?

How hot should it get?

Thanks.

Should'nt get hot at all. You may have a loose connection

Burnt out neutral.

You'll need a new switch and possibly new cabling if theres no slack.

Yup - and seriously, turn off the circuit at the fuse box and don't use it until it's sorted.

Nobody ever died from few days of greasy hair and an unwashed body.

On the other hand, people die in house fires every day.....
