Can you help? want to fit a shower is it ok to drill through the joists in the bathroom to join up the shower waste with the bath waste pipe?
not really keen on skating around the skirting to join up./

No you will weaken the joist, you can only safely cut out a joist for 22mm pipe not the 32/40 for a waste pipe.

bath waste runs parallel with the wall under the boards, trying to put the shower in the right han opposite corner,
can you use 22 dia plastic/copper pipe and use a adaptor to reduce the fixing then drill the joists?

.

Can you raise shower tray up and then run waste against skirting board to under the bath.

Can you access a drain down stairs for the shower.

Major alternative move bath through 90 degrees and put shower at the end so that waste for both can run under floor.

22mm is to small you will have flooding problems.[/quote]
