Shower tray upstands

Do shower enclosure panels still need silicone along the bottom on the outside when fitted to a tray with upstands

is the upstand all the way round? I have fitted trays with upstands into walls only, that are tiles over later. I would recommend you follow the manufacturers instructions, sealing on the outside possibly, but (usually) never on the inside.

The size I am buying has 3 or 4 upstands although as you say I would prefer just 2 as it is going in a corner. With 3 or 4 the door and end panel would sit inside the upstand which would make it hard to seal but is it necessary

why not go for a 2 upstand tray, and fit enclosure as normal?

I would but I can't get a 1000x800 with only 2. Mira do all sorts of sizes with 2,3,and4 upstands but not the combination I want.

I have just spoken to Mira tech.support . They say for 4 sided upstand trays position panels 20 mm inside of upstand and silicone as normal.
