Evening,

Looking for a bit of advise please with a resin shower tray waste.

Had an ensuite replaced a couple of years ago, the waste leaked from day 1, but was rectified by the plumber who fitted it shortly after.

Since it had started to leak again, I decided to replace the waste as the old one showed signs confirming the leak.

The new waste wouldn't tighten evenly around the cutout.

Removed the new waste and measured the waste cutout thickness. It was noticeably thinner on one side than the other.

Since the top and bottom of the waste screw together, I'm assuming the tray waste cutout should be consistent thickness all the way around to get an even seal.

Both wastes are Mcalpine.

A caliper confirmed the tray cut out is 7.5mm at one side and only 4.5mm at the other.

Any suggestions on how to rectify without replacing the tray please ?

Thinking either a thicker, softer sealing washer or a suitable silicone.
