Shower tray waste position?

Hi, I am looking for advice, I have bought a new property and the shower waste is fitted opposite to the shower head, we have complained about this as when you get out you walk through the water taken it out the shower, is this fitted correctly as builders are adamant it's right.tia

Doesn't matter which way round a tray is fitted, some quadrant trays have the waste in the centre on the curve, you you would walk over the waste on those.

I would guess the joists stopped the tray from being fitted the other way round due to the location of the waste trap, but either way, doesn't matter which way round a tray is fitted. Maybe, ideal best practise, is to have the waste away from the exit out of the shower, but that can't always be achieved.
