Showerpump single feed only?

I have an electric shower fed from a cold water tank in the loft and the pressure is pathetic.

I've got a varispeed 50 shower pump which can pump two supplies (hot & cold). As I've only got the cold water supply, can I use this pump or not (e.g. by only connecting one supply / cap off other etc)?

What make/model is the shower ?
If it's a mains fed shower why not connect it straight to the mains that feeds the loft tank ?
