Does anyone know of a way of reducing the flow or pressure to the cold inlet of our automatic mixer shower. The only way we can get a hot shower is to run a cold tap somewhere else so that the cold flow to the mixer valve is reduced

Could be that it is fitted incorrectly ie the cold is off the mains and the hot is fed from the hw cylinder, therefore giving unbalanced supplies.

If on a combi check the hot wate flow rate is correct.

You can restrict the flow to the cold down, but this may be fixing the symptom rather than the cause.
