A couple of years ago we re - furbished our Cricket Hut, and one of the things that was completed was a new shower,it was made with a stud wall, lined with ply board and then tiled onto the board, all was well for the 1st summer, but last year it started to leak onto the outside walls about 2ft from the floor,we re-tiled it,but the same is now happening again. How do we sort this out, is it something to do with the wood expanding and contracting?? Help!!!

GRC - So, you're saying that it appears to have leaked through the tiles, plyboard, stud wall and (brickwork? woodwork?) to the outside of the building....? Could the leak be from the shower pipework rather than seepage through the tiles......?

Regards, Graham,

Yer, there wouldn't have been a lot of good ply left if it had soaked through that, unless there was a join? The tile cement and grout would have had to be flexible and waterproof stuff specifically for wood, and commercial showers.
It's common practice to paint the ply first, with a couple of coats of PVA solution.
