SICK? GET BACK TO WORK!!

Joe, I sincerely hope, you never suffer from any sort of debilitating condition that prevents you going to work. Because, you'll find out just how hard a struggle it is to lead your life. I hope too you never find yourself out of work (imagine having to join the people you so obviously despise).

For the record, I work in a care home for people suffering from dementia. I have to come home and do what you'd probably consider housework, cooking and cleaning.

When my partner wants to go shopping, I have to help her round the shops. Our local council now want disabled people to pay for the blue badge scheme (despite this section of society being the hardest hit).

In effect I have 2 jobs, one at my place of employment and another at home. Do you hear me complain?? Nahh I just do what's necessary to enable my partner to lead as normal a life as I can give her.

A friend in our local failed his ATOS assessment , despite having both legs removed and being confined to a wheelchair. Perhaps they thought he could work on the checkout at Tesco's, or stack the lower shelves?
Hmmm

Where has the notion that the husband works to keep the wife gone then? Why should the taxpayer pick up the tab? That's the problem with this country, the benefit culture is just below the surface.

Sexism, as well now.

Sorry, can't stop for the banter.
Been doing little bits on the extension this morning. Can't do anymore now untill BCO says, "carry on", so I'm off to the garage for some more car restoration work.

Joe would have his wife doing that Red H.(whilst he thinks up even more ways to demean women, disabled, unemployed and gays, foreigners and everyone else)

Just read this on the BBC website about people in employment but on long term sick leave (for whatever reason)
If the recommendations are accepted people who are signed off sick would also be put on to Job Seekers' Allowance, instead of Employment Support Allowance, for a period of three months.

They would receive less money and have to prove they were looking for work.

Bit of a non starter really, Why would someone with a reasonably secure job, but on long term sick leave, have to prove they were looking for work?
Let's say hypothetically, I had to go into hospital for 2 months then home rest for 3 months before returning to work? According to this , I'd be assessed once I'd been home for a month, and would receive JSA (with the proviso I was actively looking for work) WHY, If I intended to return to my usual employment , once recovered, would I want to be actively looking for employment??
They just haven't thought this through, Have they ???

And generally wives and or partners go to work as well.
The notion of the man only going to work died off years ago, unless of course your on 100k or more a year. Then it is quite possible that notion still exists.

What world do you live in exactly?

Seems to me that this is a civil service department that will be funded partly by the savings it makes from getting people off disability allowance. It'll probably end up costing more than it will save

I ask you again. Why should the taxpayer sponsor you to do the vacuuming just because your partner doesn't work? Well?

They certainly have not.
Why would anyone in a secure job that was on sick, bearing mind they are supposed to be sick!
Be actively looking for employment and to receive JSA this is what you must be doing.
If you are on long term or any type of sick.
Do as the GP recommends, take your tablets, uses the creams, rest get over it. Then get back on with it. Why confuse the issue.
If your an idle layabout, either put them on learning courses or having them cleaning shyt up!

Most women once the children are at school will get a part time job.

This is through CHOICE, the same as BEING there when they are small.
Being ill or disabled how ever small the disability is another matter. It is unexpected and generally causes a drain on the income.

You sure like to twist and turn your words around.
