3way valve clicking loudly every second or so. Turned heating off and will look at tomorrow.
Ideas as to cause? What type of replacement would be needed

Here it is
The top picture I take it is the valve head. Should I be able to place a screwdriver into the slot and turn it.? The slot opens before the thing turns. Micro switch looks good as does the shaft of the motor.

The top picture is the valve body, the slotted shaft should turn back and forth easily, its travel is only a few degrees though. The plastic rack teeth look very worn. If the body shaft moves freely you can just replace the valve actuator head, if not, replace the whole lot.

What is he on about. The gear worn. Just looked at the photo and you spotted what I didn’t.
Good man

Thanks to everyone for all your help. Last question I promise

To avoid changing it as it’s all being replaced soon. If I took the head off. Turned it to heating and warm water. Manually turned the valve to just that. Would it then rely on the room stat only?
