Hi I have removed a Sunvic 2251 room stat and want to replace with a Siemens RDJ10 controller. There were only two wires connected to the old stat. I connected the wires to LX and L1 on the new controller but it does not work. The heating is just constantly on. I tried swapping them around but the same thing.

I found some info on line and moved the L1 terminal to L2 for a normally open cpontact. Now the heating is not on but when I set it to come on it does not trigger. The controller shows as calling for heat but the boiler does not come on.

Can anyone help. Do I need to put a link in or something. There is a third wire in the wall capped off also but this was not connected before and the Siemens should be ok for two wires. If I have the LX and L2 wires the wrong way around would it make any difference?

Appreciate an help with this

Best Regards

wires should be connected to LX and LX1 shouldnt matter which way around

But I did connect them to LX and L1 the fisrt time but the boiler was consdtantly on even when the switch was not calling for heat. This is what I cant understand.

your new stat is simply a switch, isolate the power and seperate both connecting wires turn back on and the heating should be off, isolate again and the connect the wires turn back on and heating should be on, if this happens then stat is faulty if not its your wiring
