Siemens Washing Machine Wont Spin.

Hi
We have a Siemens Extraclasse 1300 washing machine which has stoppped spinning. Completes wash cycle ok. Have had the back off and
belt is ok. If I put the spin function on, 11 seconds comes up on display
but will only slowly spin in one direction, then the other if I prod the
wheel which has the belt on.
Whilst this happens a clicking noise comes from the drain pump and you can see slight sparking from under the main drive motor which is housed directly under the belt. (would the sparking be normal anyway from the brushes in motor?)
After 4 short spins it stops and the display reverts to 1 minute
Have cleaned out the drain pump and hose. Found a piece od strimmer
line in it.

Thanks.. Have removed motor and the carbon brushes were worn right down. Put a new set in and it works a treat..hooray Total cost £25
lot cheaper than a call out by someone you dont know.
