hi guys, this is in the context of my new garage - it was built using a single skin of bricks.

Last night with all the driving rain into the exposed wall, i notices various bits of mortar that were letting the water penetrate through.

Is this normal and due to the fact its single skin and the water was i suppose forced at the bricks?

What are my options to reduce this?

Thanks

Chris

It's normal

The only way to prevent this, if you want to keep the brick visible, is to coat the exterior with a clear water repellent such as Thompsons or better still, find a silane-based product
