Silicone over silicone?

Hi this is one of those questions where really I am looking for reassurance but be honest! I applied Dow 785 silicone around the edge of my bath against the tiled wall. I felt that I had been a bit too sparing so the following day I went over the bead with more silicone to give a wider bead. Does anyone know if this is bad practice?
Many thanks. :)

if its a plastic bath did you fill it with 2/3 water first?? if yes then great iff no may still crack as the bath moves under load
but otherwise if dry and clean ok

Much appreciated Big All. It's an enamel bath and I did fill it first. The water gets past the pop up waste though! It's pretty well supported. I'll go to bed reasonably happy. Thanks again for the reply.
