small water leak from the pan connector, so I'm looking for recommendations please. I will stop using this toilet and as best, dry the area before before applying the recommend silicon .
Any other tips are most welcome.

True but needs must as its a time things.
Not quite sure what "a time thing" is but if you mean you will do properly in time then plumbers mait is easier to remove than silicone when the time comes.

Be much quicker to replace the pan connector and be able to use the toilet straight away, than it will to apply silicone and wait 24 hours for it to go off before you can use the toilet again

You can't say that without seeing it and knowing the OP's situation, ie family visiting.

I'm having radiotherapy at the moment so a little weak but should be ok in a week or two. Would like to stop this slow drip the easy way, yes I do understand it's a bodge but a quick fix if possible would help.

Ashamed to say I bodged mine with silicone and it lasted a good few months.

A tube of Fernox LS X That's my recommended silicone - it likes being wet to set ;) Spraying with water speeds setting - says so on the tube.
Around £5 in B&Q Pete if you go that route, look for a small box, mainly bright Yellow. ;)
