Just slightly curious about silicone sheathed wires. I have some low voltage undercupboard hologens with silicone sheathed flex. I wanted to check that I was okay running them near my hob where it will get quite hot but couldn't find anything in the regs about silicone sheathed, am I missing something blindingly obvious?

I havn't got the figures for silicone sheathed max temp to hand but if it can handle the heat from the lampholder at a halogen lamp then it will be perfectlly ok at a reasonable distance from a hob

Phil if your lights are going to be subject to 180c from the hob I'd have serious concerns for your eyebrows

Cheers for the replies.
My eyebrows are fully intact so I will assume all is fine. Should I send them in for callibration first do you think :) :D

If you mean your eyebrows, yes, they have been used a lot lately :D
