My boiler stopped working last night, the LED for the flame has turned red, when i try to ignite the boiler the fan and pump kick in and you can hear the ignition sparking for a few seconds before it stops and the LED turns red again.
When i turn the dial on the boiler to heating it doesn't even attempt to ignite, found the manual online which says;
"Red led on, ignition blocked/safety and smokes stats
tripped: turn the rotary switch in the position ( ) to restore functioning"
ans that's it.
So I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem before I start spending money on potentially non need parts, any advice it greatly welcome and thanks in advance

You should not be attempting to change parts to repair your boiler.

You have a gas/combustion fault and that should be repaired by a gas reg engineer for safety/legal reasons!

I actually am a fairly newly qualified gas fitter although I have been out of work for a while now and haven't particularly got much experience in fault finding

In that case you need to register for the Combustion Chamber part of this site where we will be able to help you.

I've just looked into it and i believe i would need my card details to register which i dont have as my company gas card was taken back when i was made redundant and i haven't be registered since

If you have been registered and you have your ACS details then you should still be able to register for the CC.

Give ALL your details including relevant dates and email them to [email protected] and I expect you will be granted access!
