I have just done all the donkey work then paid a Corgi Registered Plumber to do gas connections and commision my new Sime Boiler. Problem is, there is no DHW flow and it is baffling us both. Gas has been checked and Diverter valve cleaned (although as it is brand new I cannot see how it can be this). The pump runs when on 'call for hot water' but no spark and no fan. I guess these wont happen until a water flow has been sensed. There must be something simple that we are missing. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I regularly encounter instances of muppet installers who either bypass the boiler or connect the inlet and outlet backwards.

Any competent boiler engineer will be quickly able to diagnose the fault! Thats what we do so obviously we have to have the simple skills that requires!

Are you quite sure he is CORGI registered to work on his own behalf?

Thanks. You're right, muppetry was involved! Heating now fine. Hot Water seems to run if heating already on, but not otherwise. Q?- The needle from the diverter valve extends far enough when 'Call for Hot Water', but misses the microswitch, passing to one side. Is there something missing from the end of the needle?
