Hi,

I ran my boiler for around 30mins with the CH flow in/out isolated. It now fails to light for the CH or hot water.

I ‘m pretty sure I’ll have to get a professional in but I'd like to have a rough idea of what might have gone wrong so I don't get taken for a ride.

Really appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Ben

I expect it may well just have overheated and tripped an overheat device but it might have done further damage.

These boilers are certainly not friendly.

I agree.

I thought that there would have to be some safety feature against overheating, but this happened a couple of days ago now so I think it has had time to cool down.

Any idea about what the further damage could be?

Thanks,

I repair boilers based on what I see in front of me.

It may well have a manually resettable overheat but often these are for engineer access only.

Without being in front of your boiler I cannot say what has happened to yours.
