Simple job, but how to start? Leaking tap

Hi all, kitchen tap is leaking, its a single spout washer-less one. I get the idea that something needs to be removed, normally on the handles. But the handles have no cap and look like they push onto the side of the spout base, tried a pull but there is no movement. The spout rotates and there is a cross-head screw on this but haven't seen/or changed a valve like this before.

Any idea?
