Could someone explain what a choc-box is and why it might be necessary or useful. Could you direct me to one in a catalog eg. Screwfix.

Also, could someone take me thru installing a henley block - detail by detail, say for installing a shower C/U and a couple of extra circuits - a diagram or pics would be great.

Choc-block:

They come in various sizes (generally bigger ones can carry higher currents) and you can cut off as many 'squares' as you need. You can use them with solid core (like T+E) and/or flex cables.

'Terminal Strip' is the correct term, though that sounds rather deadly

And you need them because terminal strips should not be used without mechanical protection.
