Help please. I simply need to add a socket in a cupboard which houses the electricity meter and switches and stuff.
I have an external Metal box type single socket and appropriate cable, I just don't know where to connect it to.
Should it have it's own fuse etc.....it is for a psu for a new telephone.

Thanks anyone.

if you have room in the cu, add a new 16A MCB, if you dont you could remove one end of the downstairs ring (or the appropiate ring for the location of the cupboard) and add that end to the socket, and then run a new cable from the socket back to the mcb to complete the ring.

However if I were you Id get an electrician out to do it, they will charge next to nothing and there will be less chance of injury / fire.
