Just a quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to elsewhere.

My parents want to have a window put in their kitchen which will be above the worktop however they also want a double socket on the wall between the top of the worktop and the bottom of the window.

Does there have to be a set distance between each item (the worktop and bottom of socket and the bottom of the window and top of the socket). Obviously if there is this will determine how tall the window can be.

If you need to know the socket will not be anywhere near the hob, sink etc.
Thanks in advance

To prevent issues with the socket being too near the counter, in general the socket bottom should be 150mm from the counter, add the socket height and it's 250mm gap between counter and base side of sill for the window.

Problem being that, say a microwave or toaster would obscure the lower aspect of the window.

Couldn't you have the socket on one side of the window ?

Chri5 Many thanks for the info. Unfortunately due to the configuration of the kitchen this is the only place where the socket can go.
Thanks again
