Skimming over onestrike?

Anyone know if it’s okay to skim over one strike (or other fillers if not) if I pva the whole wall before skimming anyway? (If so should it be left a specific amount of time before skimming?)

redecorating and removed a few fixings and had some of the old wall blow in parts so want to one strike the deep holes before giving it a skim?
