hi

I’ve got a stud wall to skim.

It’s got 3 electrical fittings on it (extractor isolator, wall switch and double socket). Faceplates are on and wired in by the electrician.
What do people recommend when skimming the plasterboard in terms of the sockets?

Options as I see it (after power off):
1) I can loosen the face plates and skim round
2) remove face plates completely and push in wiring before skimming
3) As above but loosen the back boxes too.

The back boxes have a sizeable lip around them, which I wondered how people normally handle these.

Thanks

If they are, as I assume, the white drylining boxes then you skim up to them, i.e plaster is flush with the backbox lip.
I would just lossen the screws myself and carefully skim around the hanging faceplate but if you have the time it will certainly be easier to to take the plate off and cover the wires with a plastic sandwich bag

Thanks.
Yes, they are white dry lining boxes.
Guess I’ll see how many connections are in there and decide from there.
