Hi,

My emultion paint (dulux silk) has lumps of skin, dried paint in it.

I know this is normal for paint, but wondered how to avoid painting these bits on the ceiling, as each time i see a bit of skin on the ceiling, i have to put down the roller, scrape it off, then roller over the smeers.

Is there a pro tip to stop this? I picked as much as i could out of the roller tray before starting....

If the emulsion has been opened and then resealed, a skin can form, usually with silk, because of the PVA in it. Perhaps easier to run the paint through an old pair of tights to seive out the crud....... But dont tell the wife

I was thinking of using the collender, as its water-based paint, it is easy to rinse off again.

- and not telling the misses!
