Skirtin board replacing 101

So there I was, merrily crowbarring the skirting board off in preparation of the new oak floor going down and nice new skirtings and facings going on.

There are two radiators in the living room.

Managed to get the skirting off from under one of them - bit of a hassle but it came off.

Radiator number two...................... Couldn't get a right grip into the back of it with either a screwdriver or my iddy biddy little crowbar (OK so there might be something slightly more specific for removing skirtings - but that's all I've got). The wall started to disintegrate at the back of the skirting.

I managed to get a hold of it underneath the radiator, with a bit of brute force and ignorance. As I pulled back I must've pulled up slightly.

Result?

Radiator comes unhooked from the brackets and falls towards me - onto my hand and then landed on my leg. The way I'd been sitting on the floor, I couldn't get any leverage to lift this big radiator off my leg plus I was sitting squint.

One emergency phone call to my mother later (good job she only lives a few hundred yards away) she comes running into my rescue.

Now got a broken index finger, gash on my thumb (bloomin sharp those radiators) and a massive bruise and weal on my leg.

Oh, but I got the skirting off!

A bit of acrylic paint for repairing wet-room ceiling panels and some screws (don't worry about rawlplugs - they are for advanced installations). Jobs a good 'un
