Hi guys. Need your help here. Putting on new skirting and arcatrive. After removing my old arcatrive can see the wall and frame are even at the top but as you head to the bottom it comes out about an inch from the frame. How do i go about fitting the new one with such a gap. Many many thanks in advance for your help.

Which sits proud at the bottom? If its the frame you should plane it back flush to the wall. If its the wall that stick out though you need to rebate the back of your architrave to fit.

However if you are using the same thickness skirtings and and architrave this will leave you with a very thin section where it meets the skirting so you might need to get a thicker piece the same profile and plane it down.

That all sounds more complex than it actually is.

if its on the side you are hanging the door then you cant alter the frame as the door wont sit properly assuming the frame is right
